Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card

Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card

Rates & Fees

The Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card is a hotel rewards card that offers considerable value for its modest $95 annual fee. Part of that value comes from the 6X points it earns at U.S. gas stations, grocery stores, and U.S. restaurants (including takeout and delivery services). Additionally, the card earns 12X points on eligible purchases at Hilton resorts and properties worldwide.

While the rewards earned with the Surpass card aren’t in the form of cash back, Hilton Honors points provide quality value in exchange. For example, the 6X points on gas have an approximate value of 3.2% cash back – demonstrating why the Surpass makes the cut for “best credit cards for gas rewards.” Hilton Honors points are redeemable for award nights at Hilton properties, shopping for merchandise, pooling with family or friends, or you can transfer them to over 40 partner airline loyalty programs.

However, the Surpass provides even greater value beyond the lucrative rewards. The card also grants ten free airport lounge visits annually (upon enrollment) through Priority Pass Select. That perk normally costs $299 a year – more than triple the card’s $95 annual fee.
