TD Bank Credit Cards

TD Bank credit cards are designed with a variety of credit profiles and uses in mind. The bank offers secured credit cards for rebuilding credit, rewards cards (both travel rewards and cash back rewards), and a business card.

Co-Branded Credit Cards

TD Bank also issues co-branded credit cards, including their airline rewards card with Air Canada. That card, which earns miles through the Air Canada Aeroplan frequent flyer program, allows cardholders to earn rewards towards flights with Air Canada and other Star Alliance members. Other Star Alliance carriers include Avianca, All Nippon Airways, Air China, United Airlines, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, and more.

The bank also issues a credit card co-branded with their investment arm, Ameritrade. The TD Ameritrade Client Rewards Card lets cardholders earn cash back, which they can then apply to their associated TD Ameritrade investment accounts. The bank also formerly teamed with an online bank, Ally, to issue the Ally CashBack Credit Card.

Who Can Apply for TD Bank Credit Cards?

Despite being an international bank, TD Bank features limitations as to who can apply for the U.S. credit card offers. TD Bank does not allow applications from outside of its “footprint,” which covers the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, Metropolitan D.C., Carolinas, and Florida areas. Residents of the following states are currently eligible to apply for TD Bank credit cards:

CT MA NH ME
NY NJ PA DE
VA DC NC SC
RI VT MD FL

TD Bank Rewards Guide

TD Bank credit cards offer two distinct types of rewards: travel rewards and cash rewards.

Travel rewards take the form of miles, namely First-Class Miles. These points re what TD First Class Visa Signature® Credit Cardholders earn on select categories of purchases. These categories ore travel and dining (which gets 3X miles), and 1x miles on all other purchases.

First-Class Miles are redeemable towards a variety of awards, including:

  • Cash back
  • Gift cards
  • Merchandise
  • Travel

Cash back rewards are earned as a percentage back of every eligible purchase. The TD Cash Credit Card is the primary card that earns this type of reward, with cardholders receiving 3% back on dining, 2% back on groceries, and 1% back on all other purchases.

As with First-Class Miles, TD Cash Rewards apply to a considerable assortment of award options, including travel, merchandise, gift cards, and cash back. The best value, however, comes from cash back via statement credits or deposits into associated TD Bank accounts.

TD Bank Rewards never expire if the account is open and in good standing.
