Truist Business Cash Rewards Credit Card Review

The Truist Business Cash Rewards Credit Card provides small-to-medium-sized companies the purchasing power they need to help their business grow. The card, from Truist (a merger of BB&T and SunTrust), offers 12 months of 0% intro APR on purchases, a competitive rate after that, and more – for no annual fee.

Earn 3% Back on Eligible Purchases

Businesses earn 3% back on gas station purchases, 2% back at restaurants and office supply stores, and 1% back on all other purchases with the card.

The 3% (gas) and 2% cash back categories (dining and office supplies) only apply towards the first $2,000 in monthly spending on those categories, with all other purchases after that earning a flat 1% back.

How to Redeem Cash Back Rewards

Redeeming business cash back rewards with Truist is straightforward – and lucrative should your company already bank with the brand (including SunTrust and BB&T). Cash back applies as direct deposits into external accounts or as statement credit into a Truist account.

This second option, Truist deposit, earns an additional Loyalty Cash Bonus based on the accountholder’s Truist banking relationship. Businesses can earn a 10%, 25%, or 50% Loyalty Cash Bonus based on their Truist deposit relationship when the accountholder redeems cash rewards into a Truist deposit account.

Introductory APR Offer

The Business Cash Rewards Visa Card also provides a decent 0% introductory APR period. New accounts receive nine months of no interest on purchases, followed by a variable APR beginning as low as 12% (subject to creditworthiness and the Prime Rate).

The average APR for a small business credit card is approximately 18% – meaning applicants with exceptional credit can anticipate an interest rate around six-percentage points lower than the typical rate found with other cards.

Other Card Features

Other notable features of the Truist Business Cash Rewards Card include:

  • No annual fee
  • Add authorized cardholders at no additional charge
  • Digital account management via Truist Online Banking and Truist eZBusiness.
  • Intuit® QuickBooks® integration
  • EMV chip technology and contactless payment compatibility
  • Overdraft protection through Truist checking account linking
  • Visa® Zero Fraud Liability

Should You Apply for the Truist Business Cash Rewards Visa Credit Card?

The Truist Business Cash Rewards Card combines the excellent features of the Truist Business Credit Card and the versatility of a cash back credit card. The 3% back on gas and 2% back on dining and office supplies are excellent – even if the cash rewards are limited to the first $2,000 every month. The $2,000 cap each month might seem low for larger companies, but for smaller companies with a handful of employees, that total is reasonable – and unlikely to cause many concerns.

However, the real value for the cash rewards comes from an existing Truist (SunTrust or BB&t) banking relationship. Redeeming rewards into a Truist deposit account means even more value – up to 50% more, to be precise. That is the real exciting feature of the card – and one that makes the Truist Business Cash Rewards Card an excellent option to consider.
