In-Depth Review: FIT™ Platinum Mastercard®

The FIT Mastercard is a quality credit card for people with fair credit, bad credit, or no credit history.

Who Can Benefit from Fit Mastercard?

The FIT credit card is ideal for people with no credit or damaged credit. Continental Finance (the credit card issuer) understands building credit can be challenging – that’s why they make their FIT Card available to such a comprehensive credit profile.

How to Get the Fit Card

To increase your chances of approval and enjoy the benefits and rewards of the Fit Platinum Mastercard Credit Card, it’s important to familiarize yourself with the eligibility requirements.

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the FIT™ Platinum Mastercard®, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Be a legal resident of the United States
  • Have a steady source of income
  • Have a good credit history

Pre-Qualify Before Applying

The Fit Platinum Mastercard® Credit Card offers a simple online pre-qualification process. This process allows you to check if you will likely be approved for the card without impacting your credit score. By utilizing the pre-qualification process, you can have peace of mind knowing your eligibility for the card before applying.

Fit Platinum Card Benefits

Subject to available credit, successful applicants receive an initial credit limit of $400.00 – with no security deposit required. Making on-time payments can unlock credit limit increases after just six months.

Double Your Credit Line

If you use the Fit Platinum Mastercard responsibly (meaning you make your payments on time every month and keep your overall credit use low), Continental Finance, the card’s issuer, will reward you with more credit in as little as six (6) months.  Make your first six monthly minimum payments on time, and Surge will double your credit limit – supercharging your purchasing power.

That credit limit increase is 2X the starting limit – a $400 credit limit that doubles to $800 just by making the first six monthly payments on time. According to Continental, “You could experience the reward of more spending power, a lower credit utilization ratio, and the potential to raise your score.”

Reporting to the Major Credit Bureaus

The FIT Mastercard reports monthly to all three major credit bureausTransUnion, Experian, and Equifax. Paying your bill on time won’t just get you a shot of a credit line increase; it can also help you build your credit quickly.

Other Card Benefits

Other notable features of the Fit Mastercard include:

  • Free access to your Vantage 3.0 score from Experian when you sign up for e-statements
  • Use your card at locations everywhere that Mastercard® is accepted
  • Mastercard Zero Fraud Liability Protection

Continental Credit Protection

FIT Mastercard cardholders can also access the optional Continental Credit Protection program for an additional surcharge. Cardholders can access this feature by paying $0.99 for every $100 outstanding balance on their FIT account. That fee is automatically billed each month.

This benefit is a debt cancellation program if the cardholder loses their job or becomes disabled. The program covers up to 12 consecutive monthly payments for those who meet the qualifications. This program also pays off any balance in full should the cardholder pass away.

Tips for Maximizing the Benefits of the Fit Platinum Mastercard Credit Card

To make the most out of your Fit Platinum Mastercard Credit Card, here are some tips to consider:

  • Pay your balance in full: To avoid accruing interest charges, paying your balance in full each month is advisable. This will help you maximize the benefits of the low introductory APR and avoid unnecessary fees.
  • Monitor your account: Regularly review your credit card statements and monitor your account for any unauthorized charges or errors. Promptly reporting any discrepancies to the credit card issuer will help protect your finances and maintain the security of your Fit Platinum Mastercard Credit Card.

What We Like About the Card

One standout feature of the Fit Mastercard is its flexible credit limit. Regardless of your creditworthiness, as long as you make at least the first six monthly payments on time, you can double your credit line to $800 within the first year of your account.
Compared to many other cards that offer a “double your line” credit limit increase, Fit starts with higher initial credit limits. This impressive feature makes the card an excellent choice for individuals who want to lower their credit utilization while building a solid credit history.

Things to Consider

Since good credit is not required to be approved for the FIT Mastercard, it does feature higher interest rates than some other credit cards on the market – mainly secured credit cards. Additionally, some fees associated with this card may not be present with other similar credit cards.

Besides the annual fee, cardholders can expect a monthly maintenance fee. However cardholders with credit limits of $750 or $1,000 can have this fee waived after their first cardholder anniversary, saving them money while they build their credit by paying their statements on time.
