About Wescom Credit Union
Wescom Credit Union is a Southern California credit union dating back to the 1930s. The original credit union, Telephone Employees Credit Union, was founded in 1934 by 13 Pacific Telephone employees to help fellow employees gain access to fair loan rates.
The first physical branch of the credit union was opened in Santa Ana in the 1960s, as the credit union continued to enjoy impressive growth. By 1980, Telephone Employees Credit Union had grown to almost $500 million in assets, 80,000 members, and ten branch locations across Southern California. This continued growth saw the credit union expand its membership reach, inviting select employers to join the union for the first time.
Telephone Employees Credit Union changed to Wescom in 1996 to better reflect the credit union’s changing focus – and wider scope of membership. Today, Wescom Credit Union operates 24 branches across Southern California, with many of its locations in Los Angeles County, Orange County, San Bernardino County, and Riverside County.
Wescom offers a full suite of banking and lending products for members, including checking and savings accounts, money market accounts, youth banking, home, auto, and personal loans, insurance, investment accounts, and credit cards.
Wescom Credit Union Membership Eligibility
Are you interested in joining Wescom but not sure if you qualify? Fortunately, membership eligibility in Wescom is broad, making it easy to join the credit union. Anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Southern California can open an account at Wescom.
Branch Locations
As noted, Wescom currently operates 24 branches throughout much of Southern California – all of which offer coin counting machines for members’ use. These locations also include 47 Wescom ATMs, with most locations in and around Pasadena and Alhambra. The credit union also operates drive-up ATMs at the Anaheim, Hawthorne, Redlands, and Signal Hill locations.
Wescom Branches open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., closed Sunday. The Wescom UCLA Campus Branch is open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
