About Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union

Randolph-Brooks Federal Credit Union is a federally chartered credit union with its headquarters in Live Oak, Texas. The credit union is one of the largest credit unions in the United States, with more than 850,000 members and over $10 billion in assets as of 2019.

Randolph-Brooks FCU began in 1952 with $45 in initial deposits. In 1959, the credit union’s charter was amended to included Brooks Air Force Base, with the name changing to Randolph-brooks Federal Credit Union. 

Today, RBFCU (as it is also known) is the second-largest credit union in Texas, and the 11th largest credit union in the country, in terms of total assets.  The credit union offers a full selection of products and services for individuals and small businesses. These products include credit cards, savings and checking accounts, loans, HELOCs, retirement and investment services, and more.

Membership Criteria

Randolph-Brooks advertises more than 3,000 ways for individuals to become a member of the credit union. Those eligible for membership include:

  • Anyone who lives, works, worships or attends school in any of the communities where Randolph-Brooks FCU operates and serves.
  • Those who volunteer with charities aligned with the credit union in the communities they serve. Examples of charities and associations include the Texas PTA, Knights of Columbus and San Antonio Food Bank, and more.
  • Anyone with access to Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston, or Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland
  • The immediate family of an existing RBFCU member.
