About WestConsin Credit Union  

WestConsin Credit Union is a Wisconsin-based credit union that offers an array of financial services to its 76,000+ members. While not the largest credit union, WestConsin has over $1.1 billion in assets as 2019, making it one of the largest regional credit unions in the United States.

WestConsin traces its roots to 1939 and Menomonie Farmer’s Credit Union. The credit union grew in size and reach over the proceeding decades, until it changed its name to WestConsin Credit Union in the 1990s.

Today, the credit union runs 14 branches throughout several Wisconsin counties, including five fully operational high school offices.

Who Can Join WestConsin Credit Union?

Like many credit unions, membership in WestConsin is open to those who live or work within the credit union’s geographical service areas.

Currently, membership is open to those who live or work in the following Minnesota or Wisconsin Counties:

Wisconsin

Barron, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Clark, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, St. Croix, Sawyer, Taylor, Trempealeau, and Washburn counties

Minnesota

Anoka, Chisago, Dakota, Goodhue, Isanti, Pine, Ramsey, Wabasha, and Washington counties

Membership is also open to any students or employees at any college, university, or technical college within the service area of the credit union. Family members of those eligible for WESTconsin membership are also able to join. Eligible family members include:

  • Grandparents
  • Grandchildren
