About New England Federal Credit Union

New England Federal Credit Union (NEFCU) is a Vermont-based credit union with its headquarters in Williston, VT. The credit union serves over 90,000 members across six counties in northwestern Vermont.

NEFCU is one of the largest credit unions in the Northeast – and the largest CU in Vermont – with over $1.3 billion in total assets as of 2019.

NEFCU invests heavily in the local community. The mission statement of the credit union is to serve the communities in which it operates – something it takes very seriously through charitable donations, sponsorships, and outreach programs.

NEFCU Branch Locations

NEFCU operates six branches in northwestern Vermont. These locations are:

  • Burlington, VT – FAHC Medical Center Campus McClure 2 Connector 111 Colchester Avenue
  • Essex Junction, VT – 74 Pearl Street
  • South Burlington, VT – 1000 Shelburne Road
  • Albans, VT – 295 Tuckers Way
  • Williston, VT – 141 Harvest Lane (Headquarters)

NEFCU also operates a branch at GLOBALFOUNDRIES, in Building 969. This site is only accessible to those on-site.

NEFCU also operates fee-free ATMs at all branches, as wells at several other locations. These locations include the University of Vermont Medical Center. A full list of NEFCU ATMs is available here.

Who Can Join NEFCU?

Membership in New England Federal Credit Union s very straightforward. Membership is open to anyone who lives, works, or attends school in the following northwestern Vermont counties:

  • Addison
  • Chittenden
  • Franklin
  • Grand Isle
  • Washington, Lamoille

All you need to do to join NEFCU is open a checking or savings account, get a loan, or a refinancing product with the credit union.
