About America First Credit Union

America First Credit Union is one of the largest credit unions in the United States, serving members in Utah, Idaho, Arizona, and Nevada.  The credit union is the sixth largest by total membership (1,000,000+) and the ninth-largest credit union by total assets.

America First dates to 1939 as Fort Douglas Civilian Employees Credit Union in Fort Douglas, Utah. The credit union changed its name and headquarters several times over the next half-century, before becoming America First Credit Union in 1984.

The credit union has since acquired Community One Federal Credit Union in Las Vegas, NV, as well as Altier Credit Union in Arizona.

Who Can Join America First CU?

Membership in America First Credit Union is open to anyone who lives, works, worships, attends school, conducts business, or volunteers in the following counties or areas:

Utah

  • Salt Lake County
  • Utah County
  • Davis County
  • Summit County

Nevada

  • Clark County
  • Residents that live within a 12-mile radius of Mesquite, NV

Arizona

  • Those formerly eligible for membership with Altier Credit Union

Membership is also open to immediate family members of current America First members and owners, employees, suppliers, and their employees, or associated companies and their employees involved in the food industry, an affiliated association, or select employee group in the state of Utah

America First operates more than 130 branches in Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and Idaho, including locations in Mesquite and Las Vegas, NV, Mesa and Tempe, AZ, Boise, ID, and Salt Lake City, Ogden, Orem, and St. George, UT. The credit union also operates ATMs both in-branch and at standalone locations.
