Asiana Visa® Business Card Review

For the jet-setting executive who has attachments to the Korean carrier, Asiana Airlines, the Asiana Visa® Business Card can offer a steady stream of rewards. Whether you earn miles on everyday purchases or tickets with the airline, you can cash them in for future flights and other benefits with ease. The annual statement credits provide further encouragement to fly with Asiana, though miles can also be redeemed on associated airlines.

Basic Travel Rewards

As with other business airline cards, this Asiana credit card allows you to cover your business expenses while also earning miles. Everyday purchases earn 1 mile for every dollar, while direct purchases on Asiana tickets earn 2 miles per dollar.

As an introductory incentive, you automatically receive 10,000 Asiana Club miles after your first purchase. While the bonus is not as large as what other travel and airline credit cards offer, you’re only required to make a single purchase to redeem them. Other cards often require spending several thousand dollars in your first few months as a cardholder to receive an introductory bonus.

Redeeming Your Miles

You can start redeeming your accumulated rewards after reaching 10,000 miles. Of course, with the introductory bonus miles, surpassing this threshold doesn’t take much beyond making your first purchase with the card.

When you’re ready to redeem, you can cash in your miles on future flights, seat upgrades or excess baggage charges. It’s worth noting that though this is a co-branded card with Asiana, your miles are not limited to flights with Asiana Airlines. In fact, you can redeem your miles on tickets with any airlines in the Star Alliance, including, but not limited to:

  • Lufthansa
  • Air Canada
  • South African Airways
  • Turkish Airlines
  • United

You can also visit Asiana Club to find out more about your rewards, as well as the airline’s membership levels. When you combine your new Asiana credit card with Elite membership status, you can become eligible for even more perks, including priority processing for your bags and use of the airline lounge.

Increasing your membership level is as easy as building up your miles on flights with Asiana and other Star Alliance members over the course of 24 months. In other words, the more often you need to fly for business, the more beneficial your membership – and this credit card – might be for you and your wallet.
