United MileagePlus – the rewards program from United Airlines – has launched a campaign to get travelers vaccinated. Those who are will have a chance to win prizes, including free flights for a year. Here’s what you need to know.

United MileagePlus® Free Flights with Your Shot to Fly Sweepstakes

Traveling is ramping back up now that COVID-19 vaccines have made their way to more people’s arms. Airlines are eager to welcome back travelers, launching incentives and promotions that would result in bookings.

United Airlines is no stranger. The carrier has launched a new campaign called Your Shot to Fly. To participate, fully vaccinated new and existing MileagePlus® members need to upload a picture of their vaccination card to their account.

Entering the sweepstakes will give you the chance to win one of two prizes. The grand prize is one year of free travel to any of United’s global destinations in any class of service for the winner and one companion. The second prize is a single roundtrip flight for two in any class of service, anywhere United flies. There will be 5 grand prize winners selected randomly on July 1 and 30 second prize winners selected randomly in June.

Those who are interested in the MileagePlus free flights promotion – and who wouldn’t be? – have until June 22 to enter the sweepstakes.

United’s Travel-Ready Center

United’s promotion of free flights joins a larger effort to get more people vaccinated to combat the COVID-19 virus. However, there’s an added benefit specifically for MileagePlus members.

The airline features a Travel-Ready Center where flyers can get up-to-date travel restrictions, COVID-19 testing requirements, and test scheduling assistance. They can also upload a picture of their vaccination card to ensure the smoothest travel experience. As mentioned above, uploading a picture of the card is a requirement to enter the Your Shot to Fly sweepstakes, so some MileagePlus members may already be familiar with the process.
