Free Premium Calm Subscription with Amex Cards

American Express is continuing to roll out new perks and benefits for cardmembers during the coronavirus. Earlier this month, Amex added “at-home” perks such as statement credits for mobile phone and streaming services for select cards. Now, the issuer is unveiling new perks for all cardholders. The latest benefit is all Amex credit cards offering a free premium Calm app subscription.

Free Calm Subscription Offer Details

As of May 18, all Amex personal credit cards offer one free year of Calm membership. The Calm app provides a leading relaxation, mindfulness, and meditation service. The service is available through apps for all top operating systems, including Android and iOS.

A one-year subscription to Calm typically costs $69.99, making the new offer an exceptional value. To take advantage of the offer, a member needs to visit calm.com/americanexpress. Once there, they must enter the details of their eligible American Express Card.

While the offer requires users to submit payment details, Calm does not bill them for the first year. Since the app uses automatic payments, cardholders need to opt out of the offer before the end of their complimentary year, or they will be charged for year two. Fortunately, the second year is 50% off for Amex cardholders.

A Partnership When “Mental Fitness” Is Needed the Most

“Our partnership with American Express will introduce Calm to millions of people at a time when mental fitness practices are needed the most,” Dun Wang, Calm’s chief product and growth officer, said in a statement.

Offer Limitations

The new Calm membership offer is only available to those with personal or corporate Amex credit cards. The offer also extends to co-branded credit cards, such as Delta cards. The offer does not extend to Amex business cards, however. Amex customers have until September 30, 2020, to sign up for their free year.
