The Marriott Bonvoy line of cards from Chase offers consumers excellent value and impressive perks. The Marriott Bonvoy Bold, for example, proffers 50,000 bonus points when new account holders make just $2,000 in purchases within the first three months – plus triple points on every dollar spent with Marriott hotels worldwide. The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card, the pinnacle of the Chase and Marriott co-branded cards has usually offered 75,000 points for an initial spend to new cardholders. This week, however, Marriott and Chase upped the ante, increasing this new bonus to a whopping 100,000 points! Here’s everything you need to know about the new Bonvoy Boundless bonus offer – and how to make the most of this impressive bonus.
Marriott Bonvoy Boundless: Limited-Time 100,000-Point Sign-Up Offer
The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless card is an excellent hotel reward credit card from Chase Bank. The card earns a great 6x points on purchases made with Marriott brand hotels, 3x points when booking cruises through select Marriott partners, and 2x points for all other purchases. Cardholders also can take advantage of complimentary Silver Elite status in the Bonvoy rewards program, which entitles members to free Wi-Fi, late check-out, no blackout dates, and more – all for just a $95 annual fee. The typical welcome bonus for new cardmembers with the Boundless Card is 75,000 points after spending $5,000 in purchases within the first three months of account opening. Bonvoy points have a value of around .8 cents per point, meaning the 75,000-point bonus had a cash value of around $600. Thanks to the newly-announced enhanced welcome bonus of 100,000 points after an initial spend of $5,000 in the first three months, however, the value of the welcome bonus increases to around $800 – not bad!
A Boundless Selection of Perks
The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless comes with a complimentary stay each anniversary of card membership, but this hefty initial bonus has the power to offer many, many more free nights. Marriott Bonvoy hotel redemptions are divided into categories based on the location of each hotel and the amenities on offer, with properties in Category 1 much more economical than those in Category 8, the highest category. These free night redemption rates are further broken down into standard, peak, and off-peak seasons.
Redeeming Bonvoy Points for Free Nights
Redeeming Bonvoy points for Category 1, off-peak hotel stays with Marriott start at as low as 5,000 according to the latest charts from Marriott. This redemption rate means that 100,000 points could amount to up to 20 free nights for new cardholders. With the much more realistic standard Category 1 redemptions, however, this figure drops to up to 13 free nights. Either way, however, the introductory offer with the Boundless card packs a serious punch for the budget-conscious traveler. And, for those who like to treat themselves, 100,000 points also equates to two free nights at a Category 7 property in the off-season. While $5,000 in purchases within the first three months is nothing to scoff at, for those who travel regularly it is a feasible goal – especially given the rewards points the Boundless card offers. For those who love to explore or those whose work life always keeps them on the road, the chance to earn 6x points at Marriott’s is almost too good to pass up. $95 is also a fairly reasonable annual fee – and one that more than pays Foristell with the free annual night and Silver Elite perks. The added bonus of 100,000 points for a limited time, however, really pushed the Boundless Cards value over the top.
