American Airlines and Vinesse Wines are launching Flagship® Cellars. The new joint venture offers ultra-premium in-flight wines delivered to your door, and purchases earn 2X AAdvantage miles per dollar spent.

Airline Introducing Wine Club to Off-Load Excess Wines

The airline industry is one of the hardest-hit sectors due to the coronavirus pandemic. While many airlines are reducing flights and slashing routes, others have taken a more creative approach to cut costs.

Flagship Cellars

American Airlines, the world’s largest carrier, is stepping into the wine business. The airline is teaming with Vinesse Wines to launch Flagship® Cellars.  The new collection includes a “curated assortment of exclusive ultra-premium in-flight wines to enjoy in your home,” chosen by an “award-winning Master Sommelier exclusively for American Airlines.”

The launch of Flagship® Cellars follows the closure of AA Flagship Lounges across the network. This is a direct response to the impact the coronavirus pandemic has had on travel. With the lounges closed, and fewer Americans flying than in previous years, American was left with an abundance of fine wines. Enter the new program.
