About Greylock Federal Credit Union

Greylock Federal Credit Union is a federally chartered credit union in Western Massachusetts. Greylock was founded in 1935 by 15 employees of the General Electric Company. Pittsfield General Electric Employees Credit Union, as it was known, steadily grew over the proceeding decades.

In the 1990s, membership eligibility was extended to include employees at other companies and partners, with membership extended further to include anyone who lives or works in Berkshire County, MA in 1994. T was then that the credit union’s current name – Greylock Federal Credit Union – was adopted.

Membership Eligibility

Who can join Greylock Federal Credit Union? Membership is currently open to those who meet the following criteria:

  • Individuals who live, work, worship, or attend school in the following communities: Berkshire County, Westfield, Southwick, Granville, Montgomery, or Russell Massachusetts; Columbia County, New York; Bennington County, Vermont.
  • Persons participating in programs that alleviate poverty or distress in those communities
  • Organizations (incorporated or unincorporated) within those communities
  • Immediate family members of those eligible for Greylock membership
  • Those who participate in an association in Berkshire county, MA that is affiliated with Greylock. These associations include the Berkshire Museum, Berkshire Humane Society, and the Berkshire Conservation District.
